Wooden Mallets
My dad--Sam of Sam's Treasures--made these mallets for me to use in my shop. After using them for a short while I soon found I needed several of them. I now have three standard size and one large, and I use them all. After several years of use they are all banged up, but still do the job today. I mainly use them when I need something big to adjust a two-by-four. Their best use for me is to use a mallet with a metal tool without mushrooming its end or marring metal parts. I especially like to use one to drive out bolts without marring the threads.
